Maybe, one of the first things we learn as kids is this :
Daddy has breathed life into every living thing. We look around and see, from babies to bugs, breath in every being.
The movement of this breath fascinates us as we see a lively exchange of air into action. Rhythmic inhaling and exhaling producing energy, life and purpose. All a display of God’s glory.( 1)
When we grow big in our minds, we then learn that Daddy started all of this glory from a grain. A grain of dirt. From dirt He made ribs and ribs He made both brothers and sisters. Into the first brother, Adam , to every child born thereafter, He “breathed into his nostrils the breath of life and created a living soul.” Genesis 2:7.
It is all very fascinating. And, curious children, like me, have wondered where all that air goes when Daddy blows. I once put things in my nose to see where His breath traveled. But I could only go so far. Maybe Daddy laughed when everyone saw that I was “picking” my nose. But, Daddy knew I was just being nosey about his creation . He says that searching things out is a great honor that He gives us.(2)
Later , other kids showed me pictures that people drew of what they had been told about Daddy’s traveling air. I tried to draw a picture for myself. It is very hard to draw a thing exactly how Daddy designed it. And, I think, He is right when He says that we really can’t see everything fully like He made it. He says, in His diary, that His children “see dimly”.(3)
For now, lots of us see the flight pattern of His wind like this. . .
Through the nostrils in the nose or through an open mouth, air goes down the trachea to the bronchi to inflate the aveoli where a fascinating exchange happens that makes “a living soul.” These “living souls” Daddy later calls “His children”. There are seven billion of these children and almost twice as many lungs .
Amidst all these billions , my favorites set of lungs rests in a single Daddy’s child named “Ernie”. Ernie carries my favorite set of lungs because they have breathed a new life of faith all around. God used Ernies lungs to breathe a genuine faith(4) , one more precious than all the gold in the world. And yet, even more than that, God told a story about Himself that I am excited to share. From Ernie’s nose and mouth, to his trachea to his bronchi and finally to his aveoli, Ernie displays a very spectacular story of Daddy’s glory.
