A poem for my Brothers

 

For the brothers at Christ’s church in this day of great confession and cleansing , your sisters pray:

You can’t mess with my brothers cause sis is steady prayin

that these boys won’t be caught shaken

and these boys won’t be left swayin

 

I saw you ,FLESH ,

make my brother do what my brother did not want to do

You sought to twist neck and arms rebelliously askew

till his face turned shamefully away ,darkened and blue

Then, You roped and tied his body and dragged him through a slew

BUT DADDY  lassoed him home with these words most certain and most true:

MY brother belongs to another and his body is not for you(1)

 

So, you can’t mess with my brothers cause sis is steady prayin

that these young men won’t be shaken

and these young men won’t be swayin

 

I saw you WORLD

stealing my brother : bribing him with the new and the brass

you scaled his eyes with darkness to see only the dead and crass

Then ,you abandoned his spirit: forsaken, forlorned ,harassed .

But Daddy opened his eyes with these words most certain and most fast

MY brother will look to another whose face is  always FIRST AND LAST(2)

That these old men won’t be caught shaken

And that these old men won’t be left swayin

 

I saw you DEVIL

killing my brother, stabbing  in secret with dart and knife

piercing his heart with confusion, condemnation and strife

Only to sing your songs to the grim reaper’s rusty fiddle and fife

But Daddy rescues him alive with these words most certain and most rife(3)

There is a Perfect Brother whose sought and bought back every brothers’ life(4)

He conquers FLESH WORLD AND DEVIL and makes my brothers His WIFE!

That not one man of  God will be caught shaken

And not one man of God will be left swayin
