“The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.”
2 Peter 3:9
Father of Mercy
See his twisted slumber.
Thin and wanton
Time throws him asunder .
Father of Mercy
I hear the howl of hounds(1)
Distant dark dogs
Bellow trumpet- like sounds (2)
Father of mercy
Now Bend down from on high.(3)
a kiss of your spirit
Now a breath from your sigh.
Father of Mercy
Your hounds bear their teeth
While pain and weakness
Snarl back “no relief”
Father of mercy
See how he lacks so much.
HIs image self sculpted(4)
Too fragile to touch.
Father of mercy
Stretch forth your hand .(5)
Send your dogs to shepherd
Chase him to a promised land.
Father of Mercy
See how His window’s dim.(6)
Scales are like curtains
The lid lips like a rim.
Father of mercy
Send troops of every hound.
To Chase him tonight
Chase him whom you found .(7)
Oh Father of mercy
This decay denies your making .(8)
The dust of this bed
Hides the spirit of your taking.
Oh Father of mercy ,
oh Father most kind !!
Will the dogs find that
What eeks eternal is only thine ?
Oh Father of Mercy ,
Oh Father Divine
You promised promises true
To this daughter most small!(9)
You promised Oh Father
To be ruler of all!
I SEE now not this body
BUT your promise most true!
No hounds from heaven !
I will not leave till I see you !
Till I see Jesus buy these caskets
of bones and skin..
Drawing this eeeking soul to Behold the Forever and Amen.
Oh Father of Mercy,
oh Father most kind
Let Jesus Hold my Daddy,
Let Jesus have whats thine !
