Wasted in the Wilderness

A TRIP before EASTER>  > > >LENT……….

And Jesus, FULL OF THE HOLY SPIRIT returned from th Jordan and was led by the SPIRIT in the wilderness Luke 4:1

He split rocks in the wilderness and gave them drink abundantly as from the deep.” Psalms‬ ‭78:15‬ ‭ESV‬‬

I think I will, I will drink

I think I will , I will waste time

I think I will begin Drinking a new wine

My friends who are not friends

Will thumbs down my use of time.

Their silent secret stalks

Of posts and pictures and prompts

Will shrivel from my sight .

As I leave on foot and flight

To drink …

I think ,I surely think I will drink

I will hide in many closets and stills

As I drink my wine in hidden hills

I will pack a picnic to go with my high

I will steal the finest bread and none will I buy

I think I will SEE when I drink

I will drink fresh while the wine is pressing

My intoxication with the Vine will be the hidden blessing

I think I think I will drink

To plan to drink , I ll pack for 40 days

And forsake this familiar fat land

Where people sit to graze and gaze

I think , i think I will finally be brave and go

To that wilderness way where we starve to grow .

I think I think it’s time to drink…

I think I will get hungry and yet be more than full

I think I will get thirsty and never thirst at all

I’ll live in gain in losing , losing all that is cursed

I’ll live like a drunken creature that I was created to be at first.

Advent #8

Isaiah 44, Genesis 3

Come oh Come oh Foot of Jesus to the ground beneath THIS TREE. . .

Does your foot still come to corrupt gardens , does it come crushing bud and head?

Does it come crush double faced flowers and snakes long ago dead?

Come oh Come oh Foot of Jesus to the ground beneath my feet. . .

Does your foot still come in snowy fields , does it come where limbs stiffly pray?

Could it come pick me amidst trees that bend and break and sway?

Come oh Come oh Foot of Jesus to the ground beneath the dirt. ..

Does your foot still bleed into these roots, does it come where sin and doubt do rot?

Could it soak this evergreen right here and uproot me for your pot?

Come oh Come of Foot of Jesus , please dig me out from this ground. . .

Does your foot still move across the barren, does it move through filth with snow?

Could it bring me to your home of Lights and from your light  would  I glow?

Come oh Come oh Foot of Jesus, lift me to the beauty of your arms . .

And carry me carry me to the house of Our Father where I will be a TREE dressed in heavens charms!

“And they heard the voice of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God amongst the trees of the garden.

And the Lord God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life: And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.”

‭‭Genesis‬ ‭3:8, 14-15‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“For I will pour water upon him that is thirsty, and floods upon the dry ground: I will pour my spirit upon thy seed, and my blessing upon thine offspring:

Sing, O ye heavens; for the Lord hath done it: shout, ye lower parts of the earth: break forth into singing, ye mountains, O forest, and every tree therein: for the Lord hath redeemed Jacob, and glorified himself in Israel.”

‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭44:3, 23‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Advent #2

Advent #2

Isaiah 2

While brothers rustle hunting for deer….

And sisters hustle hunting for gifts

Isaiah stops to whisper that YOU hide in mountain clefts.

Can YOU see from heights what we feel Below ?

Can YOU stop and see when your eyes go to and fro?

Do YOU see deer shot wounded and we are too?

Do YOU see the gifts are broken and not useful for you?

Could YOU COME oh Jesus and heal us with a drink from your fountain?

Could YOU COME oh Jesus with a perfect gift from the clefts of your mountain?

Could YOU COME to our pasture and restore broken fences?

Could YOU COME ,as Our Father says , sparing none of His expenses?

Oh COME with your rifle of mercy and shoot us aright down!

Then, COME with your wallet of love and buy us a new bridal gown !

The Cup Within

I worked so hard to wash  this cup

This vessel The Father might use

I worked to make it right and clean

Readying it to go receive and glean

Full ,  I wrote and rote all your Word

So my lips might pour out all I heard

And all my doing might put me in places

Where I might see all their turning faces

But Woe to me when you came in the room

Your glory has shattered all that I presume

And you have broken  me down from heart to knee

Till I see nothing clean but you IN Me.

1.Matthew 23:25 “Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye make clean the outside of the cup and of the platter, but within they are full of extortion and excess. Thou blind Pharisee, cleanse first that which is within the cup and platter, that the outside of them may be clean also.”

2, Collosians 1:26-27 the mystery hidden for ages and generations but now revealed to his saints. To them God chose to make known how great among the Gentiles are the riches of the glory of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.”

in a day’s work: ASK

SHORT POSTS OF ADORATION IN BUSY TIMES OF VOCATION

The room is lit with lights . Small lights , large lights, like spotlights on a stage  . Lights from pumps for the heart, pumps  for the lungs, pumps  for medications, pumps for suctions,  pumps  for feedings  and the pump I brought. The pump in place of the kidney.

A large light beams from the ceiling onto the center stage, a bed.  It is light. Bright but not natural. Every beam shines small and with purpose  onto the stage where one man is set central. A man ready for the performance of his life.

Eight adult children sit in the background of the pumps. I, the nurse, watch the man on the stage. They watch me.  We all look for signs as to who  to believe. We listen to the minor roles speak.” His prognosis is Poor” “his heart is  good as dead””his kidneys are shot”” His lungs are filled with fluid” . The words that hovered on computer and paper and minds all around are now released. Unbelieving words that never can land rightly.  They only ricochet around and around the room.

I wait my turn. Then , enter with words. I recite the script that I have memorized for years. “Ill do the best I can ” I say. Clear loud with confidence.  The words leave to join the chorus of  dancing phrases.

Suddenly, impromptu a voice enters. ” do your best ,that’s all we can ask” the small plea bends around a pole from the back of the room. Another well memorized line from audience and cast heard over and over many episodes in the same theatre.

The script is the same but the players are different. Their movements seem to  contradict the plot. The small voice calling “do your best” has a face tilted up and not down. Shadows from lights show a bend. A glimpse away from the stage I see  hands held tight.  Nothing moves but a bible dripping and dipping off one bended knee.

Moving the props and changing the scene, I wonder. Could she break away from script and call for another playwrit?. Could she ask for more if she wanted? Who is writing the lines on her bended knee?.

I drop syringe and lift up my mask. My part must be abandoned. I step away from the stage. Away from the lights, away from the camera, away from the script, dodging every word that lingers in the room.

I look at the face of the voice to say “Yes,That is all you can ask of me. But of Him  . . HIM who made this man. . .please ask much more”

1. “If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!”

‭‭Matthew‬ ‭7:11‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

2. “Even to your old age, I am He, And even to gray hairs I will carry you! I have made, and I will bear; Even I will carry, and will deliver you. Remember the former things of old, For I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like Me, Declaring the end from the beginning, And from ancient times things that are not yet done, Saying, ‘My counsel shall stand, And I will do all My pleasure,’”

Thinking on these things …

WHEN I THINK ON THESE THINGS. . . . . .

A poem for Jesus from the children of God . . . .

img_3981

When I think on these things ,

I see you are most TRUE!

When Song and Dance Enter THE BRIDE, each Sunday, ANEW
And Praising Hands Lift HER many Troubles to Troubles that flew
And YOUR BRIDE arises tall from pew to pew.
WHEN I THINK ON THESE THINGS, I THINK OF WHAT IS TRUE!
When I think on these things,
I SEE YOU ARE SO HONEST
when Your Word and Your Voice crush every sin among us
And LOVE binds tightly to encourage hearts towards fondness
And YOUR BRIDE grows big with your created ONENESS
WHEN I THINK ON THESE THINGS , I THINK OF WHAT IS HONEST
When I think on these things
I SEE YOU ARE ALWAYS JUST
When Prayers prayed rightly cast out pride and fear and lust
And anointing oils keep eternal flow dissolving deadly rust
And your BRIDE stands strong in  your Boldness and Trust
WHEN I THINK ON THESE THINGS, I THINK OF WHAT IS JUST
When I think on these things
I SEE YOU AS PERFECTLY PURE
When children hear Jesus and look certain and sure
And the” least of these” reminds each heart of what LOVE will cure
And the Bride lies down to a Faith that will forever endure
WHEN I THINK ON THESE THINGS , I THINK OF WHAT IS PURE
WHATEVER WE THINK ON TOGETHER SEEMS MOST LOVELY,
LIKE THE RADIANCE OF YOUR FACE on THE DAY YOU FIRST SAW ME
WHATEVER WE THINK ON SEEMS MOST ADMIRABLE

LIKE THE CROWN ON YOUR HEAD THE DAY YOU FIRST DIED FOR ME

WHATEVER WE THINK ON TOGETHER SEEMS MOST EXCELLENT
LIKE THE GRIP OF YOUR HAND TODAY AS YOU LEAD ME

WHEN I THINK ON THESE THINGS.

I WANT TO THINK ON  THESE THINGS

WITH YOU

ALL THE MORE!!

HAVE THIS MIND AMONG YOURSELVES, WHICH IS YOURS IN CHRIST JESUS
